Artist Spotlight:Greg Piccolo first distinguished himself at just 19 as an early member of Roomful of Blues, helping define their rootsy, retro swing sound that became wildly popular across New England and beyond. Over a 25-year span, he collaborated with icons like Big Joe Turner, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pat Benatar, and more—establishing his unmistakable “fat” tenor sax tone and soulful voice.
Evolving into his own act, Greg embraced a “less is more” philosophy with Heavy Juice, melding traditional jazz, R&B, and rock ’n’ roll into his own uniquely expressive sound. Since forming the band in 1994, he’s released several acclaimed albums, including Heavy Juice, Red Lights, Acid Blue, Homage, and most recently, Who Did This?, a tribute and original instrumental showcase.
